SELLING YOUR USED GUNS

Whether you need to sell a few used guns to make room for new ones in your gun safe, or maybe you want to sell a gun that has been in the family for a while, you have many options to do so. Of course, some options are better for you than others in terms of an expected sale price.

At Dury’s Gun Shop, we offer a variety of ways that you can sell your used guns. If you live in the San Antonio area, you can simply stop in and an expert member of our staff can help recommend the best option for you based on your situation and need.

Selling Your Used Guns Outright

At Dury’s, we can buy your used gun as soon as our buyer evaluates the gun either in-person, or through our “quick sale” link located on our website under the “Sell Your Guns” tab. We buy guns outright at 30% of the Blue Book* value and can get you your money fast.

Additionally, you can simply call us at 210-531-2629.  We can help you in various ways to simplify the selling process, from estimating the value of your firearm to providing a shipping box with a convenient pre-addressed UPS call tag. (A UPS call tag sends a UPS representative to pick up your gun from your home.)

Consignment Sale

This approach will normally net you the most money for your gun, but you have to wait until the gun is sold to receive payment. Contact us and we can help with this process.

Consignment Auction

One other way to sell your used guns is through a consignment auction. We go into more detail about auctions in another post, entitled Selling Your Used Remington Shotgun at Auction, and of course we can explain your options with this method if you contact us by phone or through our website. Auctions, many times, can result in a higher price for you than typical consignment arrangements. However, be sure to become familiar with the details before jumping in.

*You can order your own copy of the Gun Blue Book by visiting http://www.Bluebookinc.com (about $45 a copy) allowing you to value most guns. Additionally, if you choose, you may call your local dealer and perhaps they can give you the Blue Book value for your firearm.
