Latest Word on Ammo Shortage

In December of 08, in anticipation of a win by presidential candidate Obama, pistol ammo and 223/5.56 ammo started disappearing from gun store shelves throughout the country. The fear was that a Democratic win would surely usher in more restrictive gun legislation that at a minimum would cause a price increase.  The run on ammo had a trickledown effect and the trend expanded into 22 rimfire and hunting rifle ammo. Hunting season staples such as Remington 30-06 Cor-Lokt  and Winchester Power Point  were often unavailable by the end of 2009.
